PGA of Asia 2011 Confirmed!
The dates for the 2011 PGA Conference of Asia are confirmed. Asia's foremost summit for teaching and playing golf professionals will be staged over three days - March 18-20, 2011 at the Bangkok International Convention Centre.
After the resounding success of the Inaugural PGA Conference of Asia, everything points to the 2011 being another milestone conference.
"Speaking on behalf of all my colleagues in the profession, I am delighted that Bangkok will play the role of the permanent host to the PGA Conference of Asia," exclaimed Tony Meechai, President and CEO of the PGA of Asia.
The host of the conference is the Thailand PGA and speaking on its behalf, Dr. Boonchu Ruangkit, its President said, "We are indeed honoured to serve as a host for this conference as we see it playing a major role to grow the game of golf both in Thailand and in the rest of Asia."
Kyi Hla Han, Executive Chairman of the Asia Tour voiced his support by declaring, "A conference like this is a much needed event for both teaching and playing professionals and I am delighted that the organisers have seen it fit to organise this event on an annual basis."
The Official Sanctioning Authority of the PGA Conference of Asia is the Sports Authority of Thailand. "We are proud to be associated with this conference as we see it as a long term effort to help grow the quality of golf throughout Asia. Anything that is designed to improve the game of golf warrants our undivided support," stressed Mr. Kanokphand Chulakasem, Governor of the SAT.
The 2011 PGA Conference of Asia will be staged in conjunction with the 2011 Southeast Asia/India Golf Merchandise Exposition which is now jointly promoted with the Japan Golf Fair.
"Staging both events simultaneously will serve as an excellent opportunity for teaching and playing professionals to get a first hand feel for the latest in terms of new equipment, technology and game improvement aids," explained Mike Sebastian, Managing Director of Asia Pacific Golf Development Conferences, the owner and producer of both events.
